It amazes me how many comments, emails and contacts I still get from this site.

In fact, it has more than 10,000 monthly visitors. A couple years ago I tried to monetize it with ads but couldn’t figure out the process. Oh well.

I still love rocks and Dallasite is still very important to me. I collected some this summer when I was home for vacation. I’ve noticed its popularity is much greater online these days and I suspect a lot has been picked.

My last update was in 2017 when I was working in Inuvik, Northwest Territories.

Since then, I became a magazine editor for a while, then worked in government communications in the Yukon, and now I’m back in Nunavut in journalism in Rankin Inlet. I also have a two-year-old Inuvialuk son.

Here are some pictures from my life recently. I do have one good rock update I will put in a separate post. I found the New Dallasite of my life way up here. It’s pretty cool.

Me in Whitehorse, Yukon. I lived there for 2.5 years. I worked for the Yukon cabinet and then Carcross/Tagish First Nation. Also took lots of photos. Since this blog, my photography became a bigger part of my career and now I’m mostly about photos/video/communications.
Ice fishing with my friend Dorion in Ulukhaktok, Northwest Territories. His skidoo burned to the ground on our way out here. He was still all smiles.
That’s me in the middle with a bunch of rappers in Arviat, Nunavut. We filmed a music video last summer. This was an awesome night. Arviat is a town of 3,000 people, mostly kids, completely flat.
My partner and son in Parksville.
Yukon roads. This is in Faro, something like 5 hours from Whitehorse or longer. Gorgeous territory. They also have amazing rocks, even with hiking trails that take you directly to agate seams…
…like this find! Lots of agate material up there.
My partner and son in Parksville this summer.
My son splashing in a puddle in spring in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut.
How Nunavut looks in winter.
